The pond has brought the beauty of nature to our yard. The view and the sounds are peaceful and calming. We constantly observe new birds and butterflies. Aquatic plants are magnificent and constantly changing plus the fish are a pleasure to watch. In the evening the pond is lit by underwater lights and we look forward to relaxing and feeding the fish. Each day brings a new surprise. Last week we discovered a dozen baby fish!!! We finally have the feeling in our yard that we have been looking to achieve since living in this house.

Our backyard has been transformed into the world's smallest, but most beautiful, wildlife preserve. We can sit on our patio and watch our own reality nature showfrom the fish in the pond, to the birds in the feeder, butterflies around the plants and raccoons and possums scurrying across the back fence1,000 times better than HDTV ever could be. It's beautiful, romantic, tranquil and exciting all at the same time. We can't wait to share it with you!

One of my younger sisters, who saw the yard last summer, also stopped yesterday and said the garden is absolutely breathtaking. She is astonished at how much everything has grown and was speechless at how the trailing stuff is crawling over the rocks and around the pond because it looks so natural! She said it looks like a different yard and is not easily impressed, but she thinks it is a first class job.

We love our pond and garden. We did not know what we were missing. From inside or outside our home we experience the sights and sounds of flowing water. We are excited each day as we notice something new; the wind rustling the grasses and spreading aromas of lilacs and other pleasant smelling plants; The various flowers and flowering bushes that change with the seasons; the wildlife that our pond brings. We have seen birds, butterflies, dragonflies, frogs, turtles and fish each day. Day or night we appreciate our home more then we could imagine.

We initially hadn't considered the possibility of including a pond. As it turns out, it was the best decision we ever made. Neither of us realized how much we would enjoy sitting beside the pond, especially in the evening hours under the soft glow of the surrounding landscape lighting. It is so peaceful and relaxing and has really allowed us to enjoy our yard in a way we never did before. We find ourselves entertaining much more and our guests rave about the pond as well as the adjoining patio and pergola, which together create the feel of an outdoor room.

The pond has beautiful waterfall with subtle twists and turns, a stone bridge, stone steps from our deck, wonderful plants and even caves for our fish. We love listening to sounds of the water and the way the lighting adds to our enjoyment in the evening. Everyone is happy, even the goldfish. All our visitors loved the changes even my 2 year old niece who after swimming in the pool asked her mother if should go to the park. She meant the stream; she wanted to walk in the waterfall.

From our morning coffee to our evening wine, you will undoubtedly find at least one of us enjoying the sights and sounds that it brings. If you recall, at first I was opposed to the idea; "Too much work" "I'm not a fish person" "we won't ever find time to sit out there." Was I wrong!!! It has become one of our favorite relaxation areas. We can not wait to see the pond area develop and evolve with the seasons. Thanks again for all your vision, expertise and talent. Our backyard fantasy garden. You open the gate and enter through an antique iron arbor quickly being overtaken by wisteria to a private magical sanctuary and follow the brick walkway to a circular patio with stone walls, pergola and fountain set amongst the Japanese maple and bamboo. It is there that you enjoy the sound of softly gurgling water, bubbling through a large Maine millstone. Come watch the birds drink, bathe and play. Daily this beauty and wonder holds a thrill. There is always something in bloom.

I enjoy sitting by my pond listening to the sounds of running water splashing against the rocks. My pond replaces that missing environment of running streams, fish and hiking trails. When twilight and darkness are illuminated by the special lighting, it creates a tranquil cozy atmosphere. My morning coffee tastes even better when I go out and walk around the pond.

These are just a few examples of how an outdoor living space is a source of joy and inspiration 365 days a year in an ever changing display. One can enjoy the moment and it is never dull as you look forward with anticipation to changes the next season will bring.
