Spring Pond Cleanout

Springtime maintenance for a healthy season

It is always better to start your pond fresh each season. Mother Nature does this each year to our natural ponds and lakes with the runoff from melting snow and again with the spring rain. Draining your pond and doing a thorough cleanout will accomplish the same thing, helping to avoid spring algae blooms. For many pond owners this is a big, time consuming, and messy job. Let our professional crew get your pond ready for a spectacular season.

Prepare For Spring

Spring algae blooms occur because of excessive amounts of nutrients left in the pond. This includes decaying plants, leaves, and even fish waste that might have been left from last season. When you clean out your pond you will be replacing the old nutrient-rich water with clean fresh water. Your plants and fish will be healthier, the water will be clearer and you'll enjoy a more beautiful, balanced pond.

When To Clean Your Pond

The best time to do your cleanout is in early Spring when your water temperature reaches 55 degrees. Once your water temperature reaches 55 degrees, beneficial bacteria will begin to colonize in your filter and on your rocks and gravel. Plus, when you refill your pond from your outside spigot, the water temperature will be very much the same as it is in your pond. Therefore there is less chance of stressing any fish that you might have.

Our cleanout packages includes starting prices. Yours will depend on the details and features of your pond.

We would like to thank you very much for the spectacular job you and your team did in creating our back yard paradise. It is everything you described it would be and more. We love how you created different areas in the yard. Each have their own charm; from the raised pergola-covered patio to the nature trail along the lilac trees, the cozy swing on the blue stone patio to the soothing sound of the water feature. We’ve entertained many people since the project was finished. Everyone is amazed when they enter the yard; it definitely has that ‘WOW’ factor. One look around and everyone says, “It’s like being in another world”.
